  13. DESCRIPTION
  14.      This manual page documents the GNU version of id.  id prints
  15.      information about the given user, or the process running it
  16.      if no user is specified.  By default, it prints the real
  17.      user ID, real group ID, effective user ID if different from
  18.      the real user ID, effective group ID if different from the
  19.      real group ID, and supplemental group IDs. It prints each
  20.      of these values preceded by a string identifying it and fol-
  21.      lowed by the corresponding user or group name in
  22.      parentheses.
  23.      The options cause id to print only part of the above infor-
  24.      mation.
  25.      OPTIONS
  26.       _   _____      -g, +group
  27.           Print only the group ID.
  28.       _   ____      -n, +name
  29.           Print the user or group name instead of the ID number.
  30.                     _   _      _            Requires -u, -g, or -G.
  31.       _   ____      -r, +real
  32.           Print the real, instead of effective, user or group ID.
  33.                     _   _      _            Requires -u, -g, or -G.
  34.       _   ____      -u, +user
  35.           Print only the user ID.
  36.       _   ______      -G, +groups
  37.           Print only the supplementary groups.
